Cultivation and Harvesting The Sachia seed is sown in June on the specially prepared field. Furrows are made with a sowing machine and the seeds are sown at the same time.
Everything is then left to nature. The farmers, who are specially trained for this, supervise all phases, from the sowing to the harvesting, without using sprays, such as herbicides, fungicides or pesticides. The plants grow and when they are withered, seed capsules develop, which contain the Sachia seed. The plant has time to thrive until the end of November. Then, with the help of a large harvesting machine (combine harvester), they will be harvested. The seeds will be loaded onto a truck and transported to the cooperative silos and will be cleaned and stored.
Every single shipment will be checked for quality upon arrival at the warehouse, and registed and booked to each respective farmer.
Therefore, the origin and cultivation on mostly small farms can, in retrospect, be located for every single seed sold.
